It’s technically Valentine’s Day. My husband and I don’t usually celebrate because we don’t usually need an excuse to celebrate this weird and wild love we had. BUT these last few weeks have been unusually fucked up because for all intensive purposes my parents are dead to me— so we are celebrating this weird and completely random holiday.

But not today because he doesn’t get paid until tomorrow and we only have like $20. So we are pretending today is Valentine’s Eve and tomorrow is the real holiday so we can get half-priced candy and dinner out.

I painted him a pair of paintings that he will hopefully like and I’m going to wrap it up brown paper stamped with a handmade stamp I am making today.

So “Happy Valentine’s Day” to those folks who are doing that thing today, “This holiday was invented by greeting card companies” to those of you who hate the Valentine’s, and “Happy Valentines Eve” to my amazing husband and anyone unorthodox or poor who buys the cheap day-after candy and pretends holidays are not on the actual day they are on.
